General Policy
Devamatha CMI International School - DCIS prides itself on an admission policy that does not discriminate against any child or family and in fact provides an inclusive education for all. All children are welcome to apply, regardless of nationality, ethnicity or religion.
Application Requirements
Completed online receipts will be accepted if accompanied by an application fee of Rs 400/- (Application fee includes VAT and is non-refundable if the offer of a place is rejected, and non-transferable).
We require all families to submit the following documents for each child entering education with us. Without these documents entry for your child may be refused.
Please note Applications will not be processed until full documentation and payment of application fee has been received.
Transfer Certificate
Every student is required to produce a Transfer Certificate from their last school. This is strictly enforced and failure to produce a properly completed certificate, or a legally binding undertaking to produce all the necessary documentation, will result in your child's place being withdrawn. Please discuss your child's transfer certificate requirements with the Registrar, as your country of origin and last school is taken into consideration.
The original Transfer Certificate must contain the following information:
Entrance Assessments
Grade 1 and above (Age 6/7 – 16)
All students admitted to the school will be required to sit an age-related placement test to ensure that he / she is prepared for the high quality education on offer at Devamatha CMI International School - Thangaloor. This includes an academic level entrance test that consists of assessment in English, Science, Maths, and General Knowledge followed by an interview with the child.
Kindergarten
There are no entrance tests for the Kindergarten but it is mandatory for the prospective students to meet the teacher for an interactive session.
The test is conducted in order to have knowledge of the student’s academic skills particularly with reference to his/her records from the previous school.
The school insists that every student should posses a valid health card as required by the health authorities.
The department of Health and Medical Service provides the necessary immunisation to the students according to the immunisation schedules followed by them. However, those who do not possess vaccination cards are vaccinated on the basis of their previous medical records, submitted by the parents to the school nurse, with the exception of KG students who are not given vaccination in school.
A copy of the Child’s Vaccination Card/Copy of the Medical Record from the previous school must be attached to the Medical Dossier, duly filled by the parent and submitted to the office at the time of admission.
